Making your own product mock ups for greeting cards with elements found in nature

I don't know about you, but when I first started selling products, I tried out all the mock up apps and even bought templates from other sellers in which to display my own products. Now, I make my own mockups.

Autumn is one of the best times to make your own mockups as many interesting colours in terms of autumn leaves are falling from the trees, feathers can be seen everywhere and conquers are in abundance.

This morning, I went for a walk in our local woods and you can see in the picture below just a few things I found on the forest floor (Apart from the echo masking tape produced by Cascade!):

As you can see in the image, there are a diverse range of colours, objects, shapes and textures which can all be useful for making your own mockup.

However, some of the leaves were too crinkly to use for the mock up. To solve this problem, I stuck them down on the white paper with the masking tape, which I shaped into double sided tape:

The beauty of this masking tape is that it is fully eco, vegan and compostable which means all of the objects that were found and the masking tape can be composted after the pictures have been taken.

I then photograph the item separately on the white paper. The white background is extremely important because when you put it into any photo editing software and you remove the background to create your own real life clip art a white background is removed easily.

Using Adobe Express, I removed the background of the different elements, duplicated some to create my own mock up for our extremely popular hedgehog anniversary, birthday, valentine card:

One seasonal mock up, re purposing what I found on forest floor. What do you think?
